Recognizing that membership in the Minerva consortium requires a commitment to the principles of open lending, any item that normally circulates locally is requestable by any Minerva library.
Exceptions include –
- Items on course reserve during the period the course is offered.
- Items needed locally in support of a specific, time-limited program or activity.
- Supplemental collections with items cataloged per the “Local Short Term Materials Collection Policy.” (i.e. Best Seller Express, bookmobile, etc.)
- Library of Things, generally catalog as Kits or 3D Objects (i.e. equipment, board games, fishing poles, kits, etc.)
- Passes (i.e. museum passes, park passes, etc.)
- Items expressly prohibited by the van delivery company
Other library materials may be granted exceptions from the standard of open lending by the Minerva Executive Board. Please use the Request for Variance of Intra-Minerva Requesting form to submit a request for consideration.
