PAPR – Submitting Holdings & Requesting Overlap Reports

The founding MSCC member libraries have submitted retention commitment information for journal and serial titles to CRL’s Print Archives Preservation Registry (PAPR).  Holdings can be updated on a yearly basis by submitting spreadsheets containing OCLC number, and optionally a system record number (e.g. bib number.) to Maine Shared Collections Librarian Matthew Revitt of titles a library have removed.

Commitment data is available on the PAPR website where it can be downloaded from the “Directory / Archiving Institutions” page.  See example for Arizona State below.

As contributing libraries MSCS partners can contact Amy Wood (CRL) t o request a list of titles and holdings from their collection and receive a spreadsheet free of charge showing which of their titles and holdings are committed (as reported in PAPR) to an existing print archive or shared print program.

To receive this spreadsheet you need to include in a spreadsheet or csv tab the following data: ISSN (if you have it), OCLC #, titles, and holdings (not necessarily if you only care about a title level comparison). If you want other data to appear in the results you can include that as well. The data should be formatted in a spreadsheet or csv tab separated text file with each category of data separated in the columns or by the tabs.
