Communications – Minerva-L Listserv

Efficient communication between the Maine State Library and Minerva libraries, and among the staffs of Minerva libraries, is essential to making the most of the large and complex integrated library system that underlies Minerva.

Minerva-L Listserv

This Minerva listserv is used to distribute breaking news and critical information. Staff of Minerva libraries can and should use the list to discuss the details of issues related to circulation, online requesting, cataloging, statistical reports, acquisitions, serials, or anything else pertaining to Minerva.

Guidelines for Use:

  1. Use informative and concise subject lines.
  2. If your posting relates narrowly to cataloging, circulation, requesting, serials, acquisitions or statistics, please begin your subject line with one of the following: CAT CIRC RQ SER ACQ STATS This will help subscribers tell at a glance whether a given posting is of interest. Suggestions for additional categories are welcome.
  3. Please check with fellow staff members to be sure that anyone with responsibilities for knowing what they are doing with Minerva is subscribed and has gotten this message.
  4. Do not subscribe to this list as a daily digest without careful thought. Occasionally urgent, time-critical info will be distributed through the list and your library may miss out if you only get the news a day later.
  5. The Minerva listserv with web interface supports changes in subscription options, viewing and searching of the message archives, and even posting of new messages.

Minerva Web Pages

The Minerva Home and the navigation of the web site provides links to all information essential to successful use of Minerva.
